Recovering and Preserving Rich Theology for the Next Generation
Northampton Press exists to preserve the treasures of Puritan theology—republishing doctrinally rich works in elegant, durable hardcover editions. Every book is retypeset, lightly modernized for clarity, and crafted with lasting materials: smyth-sewn bindings, archival paper, and hardback covers that reflect the weight of the words inside.

Why read the Puritans? Because you become like the people you spend your time with.

Why Northampton?
The name Northampton Press points to a pulpit where truth once thundered. In the town of Northampton, Massachusetts, Solomon Stoddard and Jonathan Edwards preached Christ with power and clarity. Our name is not a tribute to a place—it’s a banner for our mission: to recover the truths once proclaimed there and pass them faithfully to the next generation.
About Don Kistler
Northampton Press began with Don Kistler’s devotional habit of reading Puritan manuscripts and rewriting them in clearer language for his own use. As those texts shaped his heart and mind, he sensed a calling: these truths must be preserved—not as relics, but as vital theology for the church today.
Now with over 350 edited titles, Dr. Kistler continues to shape the editorial vision of Northampton Press with theological precision and pastoral care. Though he is a prolific author, editor, and teacher, sharing platforms with R.C. Sproul, John MacArthur, and J.I. Packer—this press was never about him. It’s about exalting Christ by preserving the timeless Puritan truths that magnify His name.
