Thomas Allen: Calling the Convicted to Christ

Born: August 26, 1608, Norwich, England
Died: September 21, 1673, Unknown

Thomas Allen was a faithful Puritan pastor and one of many who fled England to find freedom for gospel ministry in the New World. He settled in Massachusetts in 1638, where he served as assistant minister in Charlestown for 11 years and was later appointed a minister of Harvard College.

His work reveals a deep burden for souls to be truly awakened, not merely reformed. Though many of his writings were printed after his death, they continue to call modern readers to turn from sin, long for Christ, and rest in the hope of the gospel.
