Wrath Against the Day of Wrath by Jonathan Edwards

    Edited by Dr. Don Kistler
    Hardcover • 248 pages • Smyth sewn • Acid-free paper

Remembered as a “hellfire and brimstone” preacher, Jonathan Edwards primarily proclaimed the beauty of Christ. Of his more than 1,100 sermons, only 41 were devoted to judgment—and this volume collects 16 of them, most previously unpublished in print.

These sermons bring sharp clarity to God’s justice and our desperate need for grace. They echo the heart of revival preaching—calling sinners to flee wrath and trust in Christ alone. Thoughtfully edited and beautifully bound, Edwards warns of the sure wrath to come while lifting high the hope found in Christ.

    About the Author

Though not technically a Puritan, Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758) is often called "America’s greatest theologian" and considered the final echo of Puritanism in the New World. A preacher, philosopher, missionary, and president of Princeton, he helped ignite the Great Awakening with depth, conviction, and clarity and famously delivered the sermon: “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”  Edwards combined revival preaching with a lifelong commitment to doctrinal precision and Christ-centered vision. In an age of spiritual confusion, Edwards offers pastors, students, and thoughtful readers a voice of stability, depth, and unwavering biblical truth.

    Quote from the book

    Image
This is commonly the case, if not universally the case, with censorious persons, those who are ready to spy out others' wickedness and the aggravation of it, and to doom others to hell. They are a sort of men that are very insensible of their own wickedness and their own being judged and condemned of God themselves. (p. 2)
