The Abuse of God’s Grace by Nicholas Claget

    Edited by Don Kistler
    Hardcover โ€ข 240 pages โ€ข Smyth sewn โ€ข Acid-free paper

First published in 1659, The Abuse of Godโ€™s Grace is a deeply pastoral and sharply theological response to the age-old heresy of antinomianismโ€”the claim that Godโ€™s grace frees Christians from obedience to His law. Nicholas Claget confronts this error not as a fringe concern, but as a matter of serious consequence: true salvation or dangerous presumption.

Bound in smyth-sewn hardcover with acid-free paper, itโ€™s built to serve readers, churches, and libraries for generations.

    About the Author

Nicholas Claget boldly opposed the spiritual compromises of his age. Educated at Oxford and known for his skill in philosophy and theology, Claget became a powerful voice for holiness during a time when many twisted Godโ€™s grace into license for sin. Nicholas Claget faithfully preached the gospel in Suffolk, even when staying true to Godโ€™s Word meant losing his position in the church. Though he lived centuries ago, his voice still calls the church to honor the grace of God with lives marked by reverence, not rebellion.

The doctrine of the gospel, a cabinet of precious jewels, the Word of truth, holiness, and salvation, from its precious excellence calls for love and careful custody. As with rich treasures, it is always in hazard of loss and abuse. (p.1)
