About the Author
Octavius Winslow was a deeply loved 19th-century preacher whose sermons and books helped thousands grow closer to Jesus. Though he spent part of his youth in New York, he returned to England and pastored churches in Leamington, Bath, Brighton, and Spa.
While Winslow didn’t live during the Puritan era, his writings carry the same rich, heart-searching devotion that Puritan readers treasured. In a spiritually dry age, he wrote about assurance, revival, the Spirit’s work, and the believer’s daily walk with God.

Quote from the book
Beloved reader, is Jesus increasingly precious to your soul? Each day’s history, each day’s trial, each day’s sin, each day’s need, should endear the Savior to your heart because in each and all of those circumstances you should have direct and close dealings, daily and personal transactions, with Christ! You cannot cultivate an intimacy with Christ and not be enamored with His beauty, charmed with His graciousness, and absorbed with His love! (p. 22-23)
