The Covenant of Redemption by Samuel Willard

    Edited by Don Kistler
    Hardcover โ€ข Smyth sewn โ€ข Acid-free paper

Most Christians are familiar with the covenants God made with manโ€”works and graceโ€”but few have explored the covenant God made within Himself. In this rare and profound work, New England Puritan Samuel Willard explains the doctrine of the Covenant of Redemption: the eternal agreement between the Father and the Son to save sinners for the glory of Christ.

Willard unveils how Christ willingly accepted the terms of this divine covenantโ€”securing salvation before the world began. This rich doctrine is the foundation of Godโ€™s redemptive plan and offers renewed awe at the wisdom and mercy of our Triune God. Pass down a legacy of truth in a beautifully bound hardcover book that will grace the library of the next generation.

    About the Author

Samuel Willard was a bold and thoughtful Reformed preacher in early New England. In an age of transition, Samuel Willard remained rooted in Reformed truth, preaching covenant grace with clarity and courage long after the peak of the Puritan movement.. Educated at Harvard, he shepherded the church through anxious seasonsโ€”challenging the injustices of the Salem Witch Trials. After his death, his works were published as the largest book printed in North America of that time.

    Quote from the book

    Image
The unparalleled and incomprehensible love of God to sinful man, displayed in the wonderful affair of his redemption and salvation, is the great thing celebrated in the Scriptures; and it is that which invites our most frequent and raised meditations. ...Time is too short; eternity is but long enough to spend in the survey of it. This love is a fountain that sprang up in and runs down to eternity. It never knew a beginning, nor shall ever come to an end. (p. 1)
